Opportunities for Manufacturers in Long Beach
Business opportunities abound for manufacturers using recycled resources. Whether your business is just starting out, or is in full operation, we can offer your company the best possible locale for growth and profit. The City of Long Beach offers a program to help create local markets for processing, manufacturing, and marketing products made from recycled materials called the Manufacturer Advantage.
Business Assistance Programs
Your business may be eligible for benefits if located (or relocated) within the designated business district. The Manufacturer Advantage area shares its borders with other exciting business assistance programs including the Enterprise Zone and Redevelopment Project Areas. These Zones encompass nearly 26 square miles and over 10,000 Long Beach businesses, and incorporate large portions of the City including the Port of Long Beach, Downtown Business Corridor, the Long Beach Airport, and all industrial and manufacturing areas.
Long Beach Infrastructure
The area also features quality office towers, unique retail locations, and affordable manufacturing and commercial sites. The Zones are within immediate access of five freeways, the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, the Long Beach Airport, plus a wide range of educational facilities, housing, and other amenities. These assets add up to an increasingly powerful ability to aid current businesses and attract new companies, jobs, and investments.
Free Assistance
The City of Long Beach has established a Recycling Business Development Team to assist qualified businesses — new and existing — that are interested in the Manufacture Advantage. The team includes experienced staff members from the Environmental Services Bureau, the Redevelopment Bureau, and the Office of Economic Development and Cultural Affairs. They will answer questions, explain benefits, give you the bottom line, and help you get started.
